As a little girl, Lady Gaga used to sing along with her mini tape recorder to the greatest hits of Michael Jackson and danced to the sounds of the Beatles and the Rolling stones. She used to dance around the table in the restaurants using the breadsticks as a baton. She was innocent and sweet, as she would greet her new babysitter in nothing but her birthday suit.
Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta is Lady Gaga for the entire world, was born on 20th March 1986. She is an American singer, musician and even songwriter. She was born in New York but grew up in Manhattan. She got the name Gaga when she was compared with Freddie Mercury by music producer Rob Fusari and the name Gaga was taken from the song “Radio Ga Ga”.
Lady Gaga was signed by Def Jam Records in 2005, but was left out without signing it. She was left with no option, but to perform on her own in the venues and clubs in the New York City. From there, she joined several rock bands and also began to experiment with her fashion style. From 2007, when Lady Gaga was 20, she began to write songs for Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls and others where Akon discovered her. The Fame was her Debut Album that received good response. Then she never stopped and went on to win 8 Grammy Awards for different categories till date.
Besides her fame in music, Lady Gaga also contributed for various charities. On March 11, 2011, when the tsunami and earthquake hit Japan, Lady Gaga donated all the money to the relief efforts which was collected from the bracelet that she designed for a company. On 25th June 2011, Lady Gaga performed in a charity show on MTV that benefited the Red Cross in Japan. She was a part of the fight against AIDS and HIV and also focused on educating women about the disease. She is also involved in LGBT activism. She has revealed that her Grammy winning song, Poker Face, was inspired by her bisexuality.
Lady Gaga is continuing her legacy in pop music as she is the person who saved it when people were getting bored of pop music.
