July 8, 2007 - As the New York Yankees Old Timers took the field at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark in front of a capacity crowd of season ticket and mini plan holders; the Staten Island Yankees were taking on the Batavia Muckdogs in Game two of a three game set.  The baby bombers were looking to even the series after falling 8-3 in the opener last night.

It did not take long for the baby bombers, after going down 1-2-3 in the first, the Staten Island Yankees plated two runs in the second for the lead.  The Yankees scored both runs in between strike outs as the Muckdogs struck out the side in the inning.  With two outs, Isaiah Howes drew a walk and scored when DJ Hollingsworth doubled to center.  Hollingsworth would come in to score when Chris Raber singled to left field.

Nick Chigges held Batavia to just one hit and struck out eight in four shut out innings of work before giving the ball to Jason Kiley who pitched three innings, giving up one hit and two walks while striking out four batters.  Fred Jones then came in the eighth inning and pitched two innings, giving up one run on two hits while striking out two batters.

The bombers would plate three more runs in the fifth inning.  After Frank LoNigro led the inning off with a strike out, Justin Snyder was hit by a pitch and scored when Luis Nunez doubled.  Nunez came in to score when Damon Sublett belted his eighth double of the year.  Sublett then stole third but was tagged out at home when Taylor Holiday hit into a fielders choice.  Holiday would score after he advanced to second on a throwing error and Austin Krum singled.

Batavia and Staten Island will meet once again in the rubber game of the series.  Dellin Betances is scheduled to make the start for the bombers.  After the game the Yankees will board the bus back to Staten Island for a much needed off day.
