July 2, 2007 - The baby bombers were on a role, after taking the first game of the three game series against the Hudson Valley Renegades for their second consecutive win, but that streak was quickly snapped.  In game two, the ‘Gades and bombers faced off in Dutchess Stadium with Nick Chigges on the mound for Staten Island.

The Yankees were the first to score, playing one run in the top of the third inning.  Matt Morris lead off the third with a double, then advanced to third on a single by Austin Krum.  Morris scored when Jose Gil grounded into a double play.

Nick Chigges went only three innings for the bombers, being replaced by Jeff Livek.  Livek went on to give up all five Renegade runs, only three were earned.  The bombers scored again in the fifth, giving them a 2-1 lead at the time, but after the seventh inning Staten Island had to play catch up.

The bombers would go on to plate a runner in both the eighth and ninth innings, but were unable to tie the game with the tying run on third base with one out left in the ninth.

Staten Island returns home tomorrow to end the three game series with the Renegades.  Dellin Betances is scheduled to make an appearance for the Yankees.
