August 30, 2007 – The Staten Island Yankees continued their good hitting as they belted 13 hits against the Hudson Valley Renegades.  The Baby Bombers moved within 2.5 games of the division as the Brooklyn Cyclones fell to the Aberdeen Ironbirds.

Adam Olbrychowski got his second professional win as he went 6 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits with 2 strikeouts.  Nick Peterson came in relief, pitching 1.2 innings of 2 hit ball, allowing just 1 run that was unearned.  Dan Kapala then came in the game pitching 1.1 innings.

The Bombers got on the board early plating 3 runs in the second and 1 in the third.  Dave Williams got a 1-out double then Chris Raber singled and Jose Gil brought them both home on a double to centerfield.  Gil came around to score on a Austin Krum single to right.  In the fourth Taylor Holiday led it off with a line drive single to right but was erased when Damon Sublett hit into a force out.  Sublett moved to second on a Braedyn Pruitt and then David Williams walked.  Sublett then came around to score on a single by Chris Raber.

Staten Island added more to their lead when they brought home 3 runs.  Jose Gil led it off with a double and moved to third on a wild pitch.  Ryan Wehrle and Justin Snyder drew back-to-back 1-out walks to load the bases.  Gil would be erased when Taylor Holiday grounded into a force out at the plate, bringing up Damon Sublett.  A wild pitch brought home Wehrle, then Sublett smacked a line drive double to left plating Snyder and Holiday.

The Baby Bombers added 1 more in the eighth inning to give them a 8-3 lead over the ‘Gades.  Taylor Holiday and Damon Sublett belted back-to-back singles with 1 out.  Braedyn Pruitt then grounded into a force out, erasing Sublett at second.  With David Williams plate, Pruitt was caught stealing, but Holiday came home on the play.
