* 1st Annual Pre-Season Welcome Dinner where the new 2007 Staten Island Yankees team was first introduced.  Hosted by the Booster Club and held at Buona Pasta Restaurant. Press attending - SI Advance and SI Community TV. This was the first meet and greet event and was the club’s first fundraiser.  Overall, the evening was very successful. The team loved it, members had fun meeting the new players, the club received publicity and the club was put back on its feet financially.

June 19, 2007

* Opening Day Penn-League 2007 season.  Yankees opened the season at Brooklyn.  The club had a car pool trip to Keyspan Park to attend the game.  Also an extensive article with pictures from June 18 Welcome Dinner appears in Staten Island Advance.  Good advertising for the Club.

July 3, 2007

* Booster Club 50/50 at ballpark.  Thanks to all the Club members who work very hard to raise money for the Club.

July 19, 2007

* Booster Club Meeting

August 3, 2007

* As part of the Kids Night out at the Ballpark Program,  24 underprivileged children received tickets to the game, food  and a t-shirt with the Booster Club name on the back of the shirt courtesy of the Booster Club.  This happened because Jane Rogers asked the board if the Club could fill in at the last minute for an organization that cancelled.  Thanks to all Booster Club members who kindly volunteered to work very hard to make this special night for kids possible.  The Booster Club received a thank-you letter from the Staten Island Yankees and the verbal thanks from youth group leaders.  The Club did all this without costing the members money.  The event raised the money for the charity event and a couple of hundred dollars for the Club itself.

August 4, 2007

* Booster Club Meeting was held at the ballpark to discuss the upcoming Meet and Greet

August 11, 2007

* 1st Meet & Greet of regular season was to be held but was cancelled by the New York Yankee Organization due to an emergency commitment with MLB.  All the food had already been delivered.  It was given to the players and front office.  The Booster Club was reimbursed by The Staten Island Yankee front office for all money spent on event. Thanks to everyone who baked and worked hard for this event.

August 14, 2007

* Club members donated their unused tickets to the Kids Night Out Program. Almost 100 tickets were donated by two members Charles Smith and Pam Coccozello. This was a great idea and we would like to expand it next year.

August 30, 2007

* Meet & Greet after game with entire team on concourse after game. Food was provided to all with a good autograph session and a lot of fun.

September 6, 2007

                        Most Valuable Player, Justin Snyder

                        Fan Favorite, James LaSala

September 7, 2007

* 2007 regular season ends. Yankees take the wild card.

September 10, 2007

* Booster Club car pool trip to Keyspan Park in Brooklyn to support our Yankees in the playoff game between Yankees and the Cyclones.  Unfortunately, the Yankees lost and there would be no 3-peat championship.  The silver lining was Brooklyn went on to be swept by Auburn in the championship.

October 17, 2007

* Annual post season meeting at the ballpark.  Annual reports presented. A dvd of the Welcome Dinner TV Program made available to members.  New plans were discussed such as a planned club bus trip to Scranton, PA. in April/May 2008 to see the Yankees AAA team and ordering of Club shirts.

Thanks to all Booster Club members. 2007 was a good year for the club.  With last minute approval from the team, the Club,  with a lot of help from the front office, Buono Pasta Restaurant and members, pulled off a very successful first annual Welcome Dinner. Club finances were shored up. The Booster Club received considerable press in the media with a program running on SI Cable throughout the 2007 season. The Club’s paid membership went from 14 at the time of the elections to 125 at the end of the season. The Clubs By-laws were revised in order to be put on the Club’s updated website.  We look forward to 2008.  Thanks everyone.
